I'm also interested in finding out. Using a Macbook OSX 10.8.5.

We even went as far as signing up for Netflix on a US IP address while visiting family in Washington. Still didn't work, although we're getting billed in US funds.

I get american netflix by using a proxy server through a website called unblockus.com. There is a free one month trial and after that it costs $5/month, but it is a pretty reliable service, and I just run my Apple TV through it and I get to watch ABC and NBC too. And HULU.

if you have google chrome you can download hola unblocker for free... switch between american netflix, british netflix whatever in a click of a button. works with other sites like hulu and stuff as well.

Netflix doesn't use codes it a DNS based service. Meaning same login across the globe gives you localized content for where ever you logon. I use unblockus. It allows you to select your Netflix region. For instance saint Vincent was on the France Netflix 1 week after tge movie went to theater.

I use "media hint" add on for firefox. I beleve you can get it for chrome too. Works great I just solely use my firefox browser for US Netflix or BBC iplayer. Had it for over a year now and never had any problems and its free!

Yeah I've never gotten Canadian Netflix while in the US, even though our account is Canadian. Use Unblockus or the chrome extension - although I've heard they're cracking down on that?
Life is more fun in a wagon. Or at least you can take more stuff!

We started using Hola with Chrome on the MacBook. Seems to work pretty well - just need Apple TV or a HDMI cord to watch on the big screen.

I use "Private Internet Access" VPN. It also works for YouTube's "Not available in your Country"

I haven't heard any complaints from my family, which uses Unblockus on PC and a smart tv.  I use a US-based VPN, so I haven't been affected.

Rather than codes, if you get a VPN, there's even free ones out there nowadays, and go on Netflix you can usually get American Netflix. Just a note, you'll have a better chance of getting American Netflix with a paid vpn than a free one but free ones usually work fine too.
