Minor set back, the shift linkage which I thought I had figured out (reverse the shifter) didn't work :stupid:. So a couple of days of head scratching and fartin' around and a day of fab and I have the gears where they are intended. The linkage is quite tight but I think that will ease up with a little driving. Here is a poor picture of the modified set up. Got the rest of the exterior chrome installed and the windshield. The to do list is starting to get shorter, back window, a few electrical odds and ends and the interior.

Exciting times, I just went for the first drive! :yippie: There are bugs to be worked out as usual, but she's pretty quick. The interior is about 97%. The steering is very twitchy and I bled the brakes by myself so that needs to be redone with some assistance. Front end needs to be lifted as the sway bar touches sometimes.

VR6 Help!

Bad news, sprung an oil leak and although I shut it down pretty quick, I think it might be seized. Is a 2000 VR6 short block interchangeable with a 1997 block?

Not too sure, it looks like either the OEM oil cooler or close to it. I would be putting a Mk3 head and accessories on a Mk4 block, if anyone can confirm this would work it would be most appreciated!

Mk3 and mk4 12v vr6 long blocks (head and block) are the same.   Only difference is camshaft duration  and head gasket thickness

Shitty , What happens to the engine ?

So it took a few days, but it's back on the street. Only took a few hours to pull the motor, but taking out the ARP rod bolts, the new oil pump, the Autotech 262 cams, 9:1 CR plate, 42lb injectors, etc. etc. took time and getting it back in was a lot quicker than the first time. Still working out bugs, like the ebay slave cylinder that failed after a few hours of driving. Getting all the gauges functioning is a bit of a challenge. It's difficult to describe the velocity. Here's another picture.

Working hard to be at the AVR BBQ (maybe) and Sunday at the old Expo site (more likely)
