So looks like Microsoft is hitting it out of the park with Apple playing catch up.

Surface Book looks absolutely brilliant!

I've been using my Surface Pro 3 now for about 4 months and am loving it.  When its docked I have two 24 inch screens plus the surface screen running using all my usual programs and it never misses a beat.  Take it off the dock and I can head into the boardroom on wifi and its completely seamless for meetings.  So far there is nothing I would complain about, it really does run as well as any desktop would and yet has the versatility to head home in a small case and do anything I need it to do from remote locations.  Toss on the fact it can be used as a tablet if I'm speaking somewhere and it does pretty much everything I've asked of it.

It just blows my mind that the surface book is 2x more powerful than a MacBook Pro

Really?  Isn't apples mantra to sell you less for more?  Definitely when it comes to their phones and tablets.

I'd like to see if I can run Inventor and solid works on these new surfaces.

If you watch their keynote you'll see that they are doing just that. The discrete GPU and new Intel chipsets are crazy efficient. Usually you see some kind of compromise but this looks brilliant

I'm using a surface pro 3 and still love it.  It's been a workhorse for me and never let me down.  It runs a little hot which I think will be a problem long term, but so far hasn't given me any issues after a couple of years of every day usage.  Microsoft replaced it once because it was running hot, but the new one runs exactly the same so no change there.

Scuttlebutt is that it's win 10 related. Supposed to be addressed with the upcoming AE edition.

We have a surface pro 4 at the shop. I have a love hate relationship with it right now.

Why the hate? Elaborate.

The "pro" barely has corporate level windows on it which makes it difficult to deal with in a domain setting.
