Just heard about this getting approved

Ladies and gentleman, start your engines!

Area 27 and the Osoyoos Indian Band have completed the designation process for the multitude of uses that will become the Area 27 Motorsports Country Club. We have jointly achieved final approval for the 277 acre site for a period of 110 years. This is the culmination of two extraordinary years of work.

It has been, and will continue to be, a privilege to work alongside Chief Clarence Louie, Council and co-workers, and to be welcomed into the OIB community. The entire Area 27 team is honoured by this commitment and we look forward to bolstering this relationship as we move ahead with the project.

Yummy!
Is that a go-kart track on the left?

Too bad it's $40,000 to buy a spot (or something like that, I read the brochure a while ago)

My friend got invited to purchase a membership. But it is nowhere near the reach of a VW owner. This will be a country club for rich car people.

If you are lucky enough to be friends with a rich car person who happens to have a membership, I think you only need to pay a couple hundred bucks to drive there with them.

Scratch that. It's only $100 to be a guest of a member. But it's still $45,000.00 for the initial buy in and $4000/year to maintain membership. O_O

If you know a member they can bring you for $100 a day. The initial buy-in is big, but $4000 for the year is dirt cheap for what it is. It includes 15 track days a month.

It's a pretty cool setup, but not for everyone at all. I know one of the founders so I've been along for the ride hearing details and wish it was in my wheelhouse but it's not. I am hoping to go there a bit though, if all goes to plan.

now to win the lottery so I can make the buy-in, and then have the time for 15 track days a month...

Bring me bring me
If I get to go I'll be the +1 with no privileges.

Would love to cruise up there and check it out soon though. I'll probably be heading that way in March so we'll see.

While this may be a private club, financially, I don't think they will keep it exclusive to club members and guests given the limited cash flow of 'x' memberships being sold.  No one sets out to build a FIA class 2 track and not have ambitions to host motorsport events- from open track days to sanctioned races.  If this project goes to completion, then I'll give it 2 years before they need more money coming in.

^ Close to Drumheller actually.  Badlands Motorsport Resort....

Although, with the economy tanking in AB....the amount of ads of guys selling off their toys just skyrocketed.  They have all the permit approvals but money will determine when this actually gets built.
