Title: Mk2 Jetta shifter ball replacement

Hey all,

So my car is a 92 Jetta GTX, and I'm going to replace the shifter ball and then replace all the shifter linkage with a USRT kit.

So, I have to replace the shifter ball (the one on the end of the gear stick). Has anyone done this without dropping the exhaust? I have seen a few posts on the interweb where folks say they have, but it looks tough to me.

I'd rather not drop my exhaust if I don't have to, so if anyone here has any tips to replace the shifter ball I would be grateful!
