alrighty time for an update, now it may seem like i just did the same thing twice and thats because i did :( couldn't get one of the control arm bolts to torque down, because the welded nut was stripped. Got a new k-frame of my apparent new parts dealer john (fasthopper) and slammed it all back it!

finally got a strut mount that would work with my coils:mad:

they are mk3 vr mounts with cx racing coils, mk3 10.1 hubs with mk3 DE brakes
i also got the car back on the ground which seemed to be a big hurdle for some reason.
also took out the headliner which was all broken and hooked the column back up.
going to wash the thing tomorrow after it being stored in a barn for almost 2 years.
then out comes exhaust and tank for a re-undercoating.

had to do a double take on those front brake callipers, because they look almost identical to standard mk1 callipers

great progress!

here is a bit of an update, finally got to work on the bay, just trying to get it back to a point where i could spray it t-red again. not looking for show car like looks here, just plain simple tidied up etc...not all smooth and perfect.

so i filled a few spots

then i hit it with some etching primer

and then 3 coats of filler primer, which i will give a quick 400 grit sand before i hit it with some color,

got the bay all sprayed, did a semi gloss black, figured black is a good choice since i will bang shit up putting the motor in etc, then once the whole car gets resprayed i am going to redo the bay, more shaving etc.

also got some other bits painted

alrighty! time for a pretty big update!

since my last update i have done quite a bit of important stuff. I mounted the clutch master and the brake booster etc......got the master cleaned up and put in. got the brake lines back in., cleaned up a front crossmember and put that in aswell.........also pulled the 02m clutch, mk4 a/c compressor and mk4 powersteering pump/............

so i could finally put the motor in!   anyways let the pictures do the talking

got some more work done,

trans all cleaned up and painted, went for this kind of hammered look which doesn't show well in the picture, clutch kit ordered. went with the xtd stage 3, been hearing some decent enough reviews

and also rotated the housing on the turbo so it will clear the hood
