Why not adapters? Be happy with the et change and call it a day?

Because with the wheels I want the adapters will only be 15mm deep....  not safe really

You could possibly redrill the rear drums, but the front hubs aren't large enough to accommodate that PCD.

I ran 4x100 to 5x130 adapters that were 15mm thick for years and 40,000+ km with zero issue.

You would probably have to get some adaptors made.  It's pretty common to have them made. With some searching you should be able to find someone online who will make them.  And you can pick the sizing to have your wheels sit exactly how you want them

How wide are the wheels? A 15x7 et25 front et15 rear fits just fine on a mk1 with 195/45s and a reasonable ride height.

I run 12mm (I think, maybe 16mm) on my mk4 and they hold 19x10 on the car just fine. I had wheeladapters.ca make them, great service, fast and a nice product
