I need to replace the tires on my GTI soon. Stock RMs with 195/50/15. The GTi is not daily driven at all. No winter driving as its taken off the road for the winter. I am currently putting around 5000kms a year or less on the car so wearing them out is not an issue. Looking for an aggressive Summer tire with good wet traction. No track days either. Price is not a factor as long that its worth the price.

Let me know what you guys/gals have used or using.

Thanks for the help

195/45R15 toyo T1R is the best! Good quality and nice looking tread pattern. Found mine on ebay for the lowest price

Thanks for the imput. I wold like to stay with the 50 series. I am not running super low. I am only lower by 1.25 inches. I may be the only one who spun their coilovers all the way up.

I was fairly happy using a set of 195/50 kuhmos. Great rain traction, going to last better than most tires, but you can find more aggressive tires.

For your money federal 595s are probably the best thing out there. Was really happy running those on my built G60, had a good amount of traction in 2nd and were fine in the rain. Ran them down to 5/32 in the front in 10K driving mostly twisty roads very aggressively (out east), rears looked near new.
