Black carpet rejuvenation?
« on: Feb 24, 15, 00:12 »
So i have my mk4 gti black on black on black, and the carpet is now 14 years old, its not torn or anything like that but definitely has NOT been shampooed or deep cleaned since i have owned it, (almost 2 years)

what do you guys use to deep clean your black carpets and bring back that nice rich BLACK color?

Take it out, power wash it at a self serve car wash, let it dry and reinstall

I use one of these every few months http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/bissell-proheat-2x-revolution-carpet-and-upholstery-deep-cleaner/6000196048163  (different model, same heating element/design)

It does a fantastic job and doesn't require pulling the carpet. Make sure to pull all the moisture out with suction, ammo nyc and others have videos on using these things well. Heat is a big factor too, this is about as good as you'll get shy of going for a proper steamer or pulling the carpet. You can get cheaper ones that're specifically for cars, but I had carpet in my house at the time and it completely transformed it.
