1963 vw bug with dual weber carbs
« on: Nov 10, 09, 12:26 »
The car recently began to idle very weak and has very little pickup from a stop.  I picked up carb cleaner but have not used it yet.  How difficult is it to re tune the carbs or can anone reccomend a good mechanic in the lower mainland who can do this for me?

Cheers

Colin

check out The Bug Shop in Delta.  They'll get your carbs tuned up for you.

LOL, the thing is, if your asking how to do it on the internets, you're probably not qualified to do it yourself.

If indeed the OP is serious about learning these things, to do it correctly, you at the very least need a Weber manual:

a sync tool:

and it would be of huge benefit to have an air/fuel meter of some sort:

depends how quick you need them done.  I have to do the timing belt in the CRVix this weekend.  I was supposed to do it last weekend but I worked on my car so I could get to work all this week.  Stupid brokeswagens
