Boosting Issue C5 A6.
« on: Jul 23, 13, 12:24 »
So this is a Issue my dads car is currently having. Its a 2000 Audi A6 2.7T 6spd. He runs the 3-stage APR Software (installed by RPI about 2yrs ago). Cars usually stays on 93 tune. It does have a upgraded Diverter Valve (not sure which type done by PO). So recently when accelerating hard in Boost usually in 2nd and 3rd at about 3800-5000rpm it starts cutting out and jerking quite vilently. So he drove it back from Northern BC like this but once It got here we Switched the Tune to Stock and its driving fine. its has about 175km on stock turbos. But from what i know it seems like this is more Likely a Diverter Valve issue. Im by no means a turbo expect cause i prefer N/A. So any info on this would be appreciated.

FYI Schmeisus arent u having a problem similar to this?

Um kind of. My problem now that I've found it was a wastegate actuator. The diaphragm inside was toast and so what I can figure was happening was if any boost was applied to that diaphragm it would have no resistance and the exhaust was pushing the wastegate open. The only way to stop that was to go WOT so the n75 would basically remove that boost so the spring in the diaphragm would actually hold the wastegate closed.

Long and short of it for my car was I can't get a new actuator so it's time to step up.

Forge does make a wastegate actuator for the 2.0T. But you may have an issue that a lot of k03's were plagued with. Mine had this problem, where the manifold cracked where the wastegate actuator was drilled in
